DIAGNOdent aids in the detection of decay using laser fluorescence. The smallest of cavities can be detected before it can be seen on a digital image. It is as easy as shining a light on your tooth.
Digital sensors use 90% less radiation than traditional x-rays, so they are safer for our patients and our staff. Digital images are also safer for the environment because they do not require the use of chemicals to develop the images.
We do panoramic imaging, which takes an image of your entire lower face. It shows whether all permanent teeth are present or if orthodontic intervention is needed. It aids in the location of the sinus cavities, should an extraction be needed, and shows the position of wisdom teeth.
Panoramic images also help us diagnose:
• cysts or tumors
• bone abnormalities sometimes associated with cancer and other systemic diseases
Intraoral cameras are small cameras that allow pictures to be taken inside the mouth. We will be able to show you on a chair-side monitor the condition of your teeth and gums. We’ll explain treatment options and together decide the treatment that is right for you.
We have two registered dental hygienists at Allen Creek Dental who are experienced with patients of all ages. They love what they do and will make you feel at ease. We have early morning and evening appointments available for your convenience.
In order to maintain healthy and attractive teeth, the earliest possible care is essential. Technological advances in the field allow us to provide safer dental care, as well as earlier detection of gum disease.
